I’ve never been big on resolutions, but i think 2012 is going to be a big year. In order to get the most out of this coming year I’ve outlined seven items that will go a long way in making me feel that 2012 was a success.
1) track our finances - im tired of not knowing how much we have left in our budget, i need to put on my big girl pants and take some control 2) exercise regularly - 2 times a week bare minimum. and hit the pool regularly. Why am I denying myself something that brings so much joy? I ache for the scent of chlorine to linger on my skin again 3) stop drinking - I’ve discovered what people were so crazy about in college, its time to reign that back in 4) finish the house - wrap up all those little straggling things on the house 5) create more - i’ve given up enough evenings to sitting in front of the boob tube. time to feel accomplished outside of work, and have something to show for my time. 6) hang art - our house really came together in 2011, its time to make it home. That means paint, print, frame, hang art that makes our place shout ‘US’. 7) volunteer - its a small thing, its outside my comfort zone, its easy to dodge and avoid. but setting aside time to do something for others should be made a priority.
“When she was awake, her energy and the force of her personality shone through her face and made it difficult to know anything about what she really looked like, somewhat in the same way that you couldn’t see the glass envelope of a lightbulb when it was turned on.”
"The sheer amount of new money that the Fed created was unprecedented. From the time we went off the gold standard in 1933 until 2008 the Fed had created a net total of 800 billion dollars. In the months following the financial crisis, that number nearly tripled to almost 2.4 million. Julie and her colleagues were spending more newly created money in just 15 months than the fed had created in its entire history."
